"Every stone says: God is very far!" - Lorca
I can't find a serviceable English translation online. And Claude did better than I could do by a mile so here is that one below.

There are souls that have…
Federico García Lorca, from Libro de poemas (1921)
There are souls that have
blue morning stars,
mornings gone withered
among the leaves of time,
and chaste corners
that keep an old
murmur of longings
and dreams.
Other souls have
the aching ghosts
of passions. Fruit
with worms in it. Echoes
of a burnt voice
that comes from far off
like a current
of shadow. Memories
emptied of weeping
and crumbs of kisses.
My soul has been ripe
a long time now,
and it crumbles away,
cloudy with mystery.
Young stones
gnawed by reverie
fall on the waters
of my thoughts.
Every stone says:
"God is very far!"
